So what is 360° VR photography?
Basically it is the fusion of photography and technology to create a
full spherical 360° X 180° virtual environment which enables the viewer to
experience the scene as if he/she were actually there.
Is this something new?
In the past there have been a few different "one-shot" solutions
which consisted of a mirrored lens attached to a standard camera
lens this setup was then attached to a tripod and set to take one
shot which produced a single 360° x 110° image allowing the viewer
the ability to look around a scene but not up or down, the problem
with this way of doing things is that as the panorama was made up of
just one shot, the quality is inferior and the end result is
actually worse than a gallery of quality images.
How are the 360° images produced by BSP360 different?
Our panoramas are made up of a series of images of the scene taken
by a professional photographer using top of the range Nikon
equipment. These shots are then seamlessly stitched together using
the latest software available to produce a single high quality equirectangular image, this image can then be viewed online in
either flash, quicktime or HTML5 format immersing the viewer in the scene
and giving them the feeling of actually being there. The spherical images can be utilised on your
website or offline for presentation purposes or even packaged on
CDs to send to clients. In addition to this, all of the
images can also be viewed on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices.
